Annie and Jim

Annie’s dress was absolutely stunning! Look at the detail–

The ceremony was charming. Love the way Annie is smiling with her eyes-

I often wonder what people are thinking. Guess that’s one of the reasons why I love my career so much. I always take a “dry run” the week of the wedding. When I arrived at the church, I almost fell over because of this red door. I had trouble sleeping that night, staring at the ceiling- “ok, I’m going to have Annie do this, and we can do this, and oh! this too!”-

watch out Next Top Model! -

Annie and Sarah. Two amazing sisters-

looks like these gals know how to have fun!

l-o-v-e it! I brought a “deer light” (no lie) to experiment with. I took Annie outside in the dark and had a helper shine the light on the back of her gown. Here’s what I got-

have no idea where the blue light came from but WOW!

BABY LOVE

Lily

Gregg and Lisa are getting married in September. Baby Lily is 6 months old and growing so fast! It was such a pleasure meeting her! Here they are with Lisa’s mom Mary-

Lisa was really “camera shy” at the beginning and told me she didn’t like having her picture taken. After getting her to laugh, she was getting into it! Lisa- please don’t worry! You’re fabulous!!

Gregg was having a great time too! Such a sweetheart-

Isn’t love grand?

Jess and Josh

And what a fun day it was! Fun couples=fun images. Good thinking to bring the sunglasses guys. I walk with couples all over the city. Nothing compares to an engagement session done out on location. The spontaneity really shows in the images-

Boy-oh-boy

What a cutie! So sweet, genuine and appreciative.

Josh-another cutie! Him and Jess are a perfect match.

Janet and Mike

I thought this was funny. I told Mike to pick Janet up and twirl her around. Here’s what we got-

Great job Mike!

Janet and Mike have been together for 10 years. I am so excited to photograph their wedding in September. They are a terrific couple!

I love how Janet is acting sassy and confident!

Jaimie and Ian

What a gorgeous day for an engagement session!! We walked around the neighborhood where my studio is located-

Doesn’t this church look like Notre Dame in Paris?!

Jaimie photographs beautifully. The color that is blurred at the bottom are actually pansies!

Ian is also known as “the cool one”

The best lighting of the day is just before sunset. Look at the way the sun dabbles places. Jaimie and Ian have amazing chemistry and are crazy about each other-

This is one of my favorites. The wind just flew her hair around. I’m thinking Mary Tyler Moore throwing her hat up in the air. I don’t know why, but I am sure dating myself!

summer favs

June 1, 2008 - No Responses

I must admit that after American Idol and Dancing with the Stars ended their seasons, it was kind of a let down. But on the other hand, we are free from television. Alas, there are some fun tv shows that are a far cry from the reality tv on the major networks. Here are 3, ok, 4 of my fav shows. Some are new, others are returning-

Peter Perfect

“Peter Perfect” is a new show airing on the Style Network. Picture a flamboyant Dudley Moore meets Austin Powers. What is so interesting about this show is that he not only owns his own business (as a celebrity hair stylist- what else?!), but this show is about him being a business consultant for business owners. I’m confusing you. Peter will go into these small businesses and do a complete makeover of their store, the owner and their employees, along with a marketing plan. I want to meet this man-

Dress my Nest

We miss Queer Eye! Thom is back with a new season on the Style Network. Love the look of horror on his face when he sees a disaster for the first time-

The Final 24

Ever wonder what really happened to Jim Morrison in the last hours of his life? Ok, me neither. “The Final 24″ is an amazing documentary-style show on the Biography Channel.  Picture VH1’s “Behind the Music” meets cheesy re-enactments from “America’s Most Wanted”. This show is fascinating with facts that you never even dreamed of on your favorite musicians who are no longer with us!

Dirty Jobs

“Did Mike REALLY just do that?!!  Join host Mike Rowe for “Dirty Jobs” on The Discovery Channel. He’s does jobs like; changing water tanks on top of NYC buildings, I just can’t go on. You have to watch to believe. Mike, please put on some gloves. I’ll buy you a pair if need be. Just, put-them-on. Please…

tantalizing television

May 23, 2008 - No Responses

Wow! What an exciting week in television. Let’s start with “Dancing with the Stars”-

Of course Kristy would win!! But is it really fair that she is a trained skater with a dancing background? My mother is still going on about that-

You’d be exhausted too if you had a dance instructor like Mark. Amazing!!! Where does he come up with the choreography?! Imagine trying to memorize all those moves. They make it look easy. I admire anyone who is determined and passionate about their craft-

What is going on with these “sexed up” outfits! We know he is handsome and probably has a great upper body. Leave that up to our imaginations though!-

Isn’t this attire more elegant and graceful!

AMERICAN IDOL

What an AMAZING picture. The energy everyone felt. I was really surprized that this David would win-

Please don’t worry about lil’ David. He’ll do just fine. He needs more confidence. But wait! He is only 17 years old!  Here is an 18 year old Linda Jae-

The year: 1985. I was 18 years old. Don’t you love the music symbols on the shirt? The polka dot skirt? How about the mullet?  Wait! It gets better-

I had the Sheena Easton “V” on the sides. This was also in 1984. Would I go back? Hmmmm, only for a day or two. Life is pretty great at 41-Back to Idol!-

Donna Summer?!!!!!!!!!!! Made me cry. My cousin and I used to play her album “Bad Girls” to death back in the day. She still sounds incredible. She has to be in her late 50’s anyway!

You might be scratching your head saying “Graham Nash?” Part of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Loved it! And how perfect to team him up with Brooke-

Bryan Adams?! I didn’t even recognize you! Love the music though-

Would you want to bring one of the ZZ Top members home to meet mom?  LOVE the music. I will miss American Idol. What a fantastic season finale. You could feel the excitement every second. And now that David Cook has won, he’ll be able to take a lesson from the REAL master-

TWO FINE BOYS

I was playing around with my camera, sitting at the dining room table. Boozy peeked his head up on the table, smelling my dinner. This is what I got-

Lets not forget about the “Kingpin” Mr. Deeds-

In the kitchen. Don’t the two boys look absolutely thrilled to be held?! Mr. Deeds weighs 16 pounds!

Darcy- “regal”, fun and so appreciative. When I’m able to be creative and people feel comfortable with me, that is when amazing images come shining through, which is my goal-

I loved her dress. Simple yet elegant-

I think that Darcy and Todd secretly want to be on “Dancing with the Stars”. I’ll gladly be the photographer for one of my fav shows!

we went out on by the railroad tracks! I love this! I want to start photographing my engagement sessions here too. It has a certain “european edge” to it. I love anything different-

I love, love NYC

April 25, 2008 - No Responses

I recently tagged along with a colleague of mine who photographed an engagement session in Central Park. What a day!-

We ate lunch in Astoria, Queens

John was doing his “sexy back” pose

John has the coolest belts

my wanna-be “sexy back pose”.

amazing architecture

I really just photograph anything that inspires me. Brides will sometimes ask me- “how do you know what to photograph?” Well, I don’t have an answer. Sometimes, you just “know”-

mobile coffee

I don’t know either…

to be a kid again…

This was the original punk club CBGB’s!! It is now a combo clothing/used record store. What is cool about this is that the designer kept much of the original graffiti and “grit” on the inside.

I was on the subway and used a really slow shutter speed. Notice the people on the other side of the train tracks-

Had to go to Parsons School of Design where Project Runway is filmed. “Make it work!”

Here is the fountain at Columbus Circle-

A final thought: if I was rich, I would beyond a doubt be living in NYC. Enjoy this gorgeous weather friends!!

yummy, but why are my pants snug?!

yummo

Recently, I photographed a bunch of different pastries and a wedding cake for The Bean Counter Bakery in Shrewsbury. Alice Lombardi owns this amazing bakery and is going to be using some of these images to be displayed in both Worcester and Bride and Groom magazine. Here’s what I did-

mini cherry cheesecakes

fruit tarts made with cream cheese-is your mouth watering yet?!

key lime pie- manifique!

how about some “chocolate explosion?!”

Alice also creates unique and delicious wedding cakes-

*So after I photographed these, Alice was kind enough to let me take the pastries home. I ate everything like a cow. These (along with other images) will be displayed at The Bean Counter in Shrewsbury. It is located at 288 Boston Turnpike Rd. (Rt. 9). The Worcester location is on Highland St., across from The Sol Proprietor.
